Zoom Workshop for January

Hi to everyone and welcome to 2024. To kickstart the year our first Zoom presentation will be held at 7pm on Wednesday January 17th. For those new to the club most of our Zoom nights are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month with a start time of 7pm.

This month photographer Colin Harrison from Great Britain will be sharing some of his outstanding images in an award winning AV presentation .

Colin has written” Zoom Title – My journey in the Audio Visual World.” Three years ago having gained the EFIAP/d3 salon qualification, I decided to get back into producing audio visual sequences after a very long break. My AVs are mainly short and light-hearted, and I try to bring my creative skills into them. My mission statement is to entertain the audience. Recently I have received an AV exhibition silver medal in the UK and an AV Salon medal in Poland for my sequences. You will see a variety of subject matter in my talk including Death Valley, Grand Canyon, creative flower photography and ghost towns. Many of the images from my talk can be seen on my website www.colinharrisonphotography.uk

Please use the Zoom link, which can be found on our  website, to join the Zoom meeting from 6.45pm. Everyone is welcome including some members of the Wangi Club who will be joining us.

See you there GregC

Newcastle Show March 1st to 3rd

Our club will be helping to organise an exhibition of images at the upcoming Newcastle Show on March 1st to 3rd.

Katherine JAMES is the driving force behind our involvement. For those who would like to contribute we need 6 to 8 prints you may have entered in any print competition.

They must be on a mat board 50cm X 40cm (just as you would have entered them with name and title etc)

The Show Committee have requested the images are NOT of portraits of people, anything else is fine!

Interested in being involved and having your images on display? Then bring them along on Jan or Feb print nights at VBC and Katherine will collect them.

If this doesn’t suit please drop them off to Katherine at her house. Any questions please contact Katherine.

Thanks GregC

Wangi Camera Club – Presentation by Ian English on Self Portraits

I know the timing is a bit off given our January Set Subject competition on Self Portraits closes tonight, but I received the invitation this morning to a presentation on Self Portrait Photography by Ian English which will be held on Monday 22nd January at the Wangi Workers Club commencing at 7.00pm.

There will also be two workshops following Ian’s presentation at the Martinsville Studio. The first is a practical workshop on Self Portraiture, the second on Photographing Models. To attend these workshops participants must first have intended Ian’s presentation on Monday 22nd January. Further information can be found at the following link –  Wangi Workshops_Self Portraits
